Meme: 30 song questions (10-12)
Day 10 - A song that makes you fall asleep
All Good Things (Come To An End) — Nelly Futardo

I just really love this one. It's had a lot of repeat plays. This is one I used to have on loop to work/revise to in sixth form, actually, because it's nice relaxing noise.

Honestly, what will become of me?
Don't like reality, it's way too clear to me
But really life is dandy, we are we don't see
Miss everything daydreaming

Flames to dust, lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end?
Flames to dust, lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end?

Traveling, I only stop at exits wondering if I'll stay
Young and restless living this way I stress less
I want to pull away when the dream dies
The pain sets in and I don't cry, I only feel gravity and I wonder why

Flames to dust, lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end?
Flames to dust, lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end?
Come to an end, come to (an...)
Why do all good things come to an end?
Come to an end, come to (an...)
Why do all good things come to an end?

Well, the dogs were whistling a new tune
Barking at the new moon, hoping it would come soon
So that they could... Dogs were whistling a new tune
Barking at the new moon, hoping it would come soon
So that they could die (die... die... die...)

Well, the dogs were barking at the new moon
Whistling a new tune, hoping it would come soon
And the sun the dogs were barking at the new moon
Whistling a new tune, hoping it would come soon
So that they could die

Day 11 - A song from your favourite band
Speed the Collapse — Metric

This was a really hard question to answer -- I have quite a lot of bands I love! But I haven't used a Metric song for any of my other meme answers, so I'll go with them. This is also one of my favourite apocalypse songs. (I have a lot of favourite apocalypse songs.)

All the way from where we came
Built a mansion in a day
Distant lightning, thunder claps
Watch our neighbors house collapse
Looked the other way
And then the storm was overhead
All the oceans boiled and rivers bled
We auctioned off our memories
In the absence of a breeze
Scatter what remains
Scatter what remains

Pushed away, I'm pulled toward
A comedown of revolving doors
Every warning we ignored
Drifting in from distant shores
The wind presents a change of course
A second reckoning of sorts
We were wasted waiting for
A comedown of revolving doors

(Aah, aah, aah)
Fate, don't fail me now.
(Aah, aah, aah)

And when the days that followed past
In another mansion built to last
From our window we could see only possibilities
Down the road and back
But, then the storm returned for more
In a come down of revolving doors
Auctioned off our memories
In the absence of a breeze
Scatter what remains
Scatter what remains

Pushed away, I'm pulled toward
A comedown of revolving doors
Every warning we ignored
Drifting in from distant shores
The wind presents a change of course
A second reckoning of sorts
We were wasted waiting for
A comedown of revolving doors.

Day 12 - A song from a band you hate
A Light As Bright As Ours — Sandi Thom

Yeah, this is the "I wish I was a punk rocker" singer. Which is one of the most annoying songs I know XD But this one is okay! Although I have no idea why I have it in my music collection -- I think may be one my sister added way back when she used to steal my laptop...

Walking through the years
time will make it clear
every storm that we thrawl
fades in the river.

When you're weary
I will find you there
like the sun melts the snow
in the winter.

(chorus)
Every night comes to an end
every broken heart can always mend
so put your feet on solid ground
you know that a light as bright as our's
wont go out.

There's nothing you will gain
from holding on to your pain
let it fall like the leaves
in the autumn

Dry your eye's my friend
all thing's come to an end
when you find love all the rest
is forgotten.

(chorus)

Every tear was made to fall
every drought was sent to make us tall
so put your feet on solid ground
you know that a light as bright as our's
won't go out.

The first one is relaxing, the second one is a great apocalyptic song that gets into your head! I may have to look up more songs by Metric now!

I actually like Sandi Thom, though I've only got her first album, so hadn't heard this one. Each to their own! :)

Metric are really good! Favourite songs (other than this one) are "Sick Muse", "Collect Call" and "Clone". But there are many great ones!

Ooh, I've heard speed the collapse!! It's a gorgeous song.

I'm weirdly fond of All Good Things Come To An End, even though this is literally the first time i've heard it.'

And I didn't like the song you hated from day two, i think, so I won't listen to that last one :P

I'm decently positive I first heard it in the background of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NswJ4kO9uHc. Immediately made me hunt it down :D

And I have the most random music collection in the world. There's literally everything from rap to folk in there. :P
